Jordi Bertomeu had an interview with the Greek newspaper “Live Sport” and referred to the conflict with Dimitris Giannakopoulos.
Here is what the EuroLeague CEO said:
On the conflict with Panathinaikos and its owner: “It’s not unusual for such a behaviour to take place. What matters is to move forward, though. The EuroLeague has proved they always wanted Panathinaikos to stay in the competition.”
On Dimitris Giannakopoulos’ sanctions: “He received these sanctions, because of some unacceptable things he did. He apologised in public and we put them on hold. But, if the same thing happens again, he will be expelled.”
On Athens hosting the Final Four: “Athens is one of the candidates to host the Final Four. There is nothing certain yet. We will see what happens. It is always great for us, though, to have Greece host big competitions.”
