In the first day of the new ACB season, Barcelona cruised to an easy victory over Gran Canaria at home (98-78).
The “Blaugrana” were in front by 17 at halftime (49-32). Gran Canaria tried to make a come-back in the second half, yet the Catalans retained control of the game and claimed the victory.
Ante Tomic had 21 points and six rebounds for the winners, with Thomas Heurtel making a double-double (13 points and 11 assists).
On the other hand, Eulis Baez scored 16 points for Gran Canaria and Chris Evans added 14.
