Real Madrid teen sensation Luka Doncic has declared for the 2018 NBA Draft.

Doncic submitted draft paperwork this week to formally enter his name, league sources told Yahoo Sports on Saturday.

The move by the Slovenian comes as little surprise with many expecting him to picked in the top three with some even predicting Doncic to be the top pick.

Many NBA scouts and executives were present in Athens last week to see Doncic in action, but even though he has not provided the kind of performances in the EuroLeague playoffs as many have been used to this season so far, those very executives, that included Los Angeles Lakers general manager Robert Pelinka, Charlotte Hornets’ Mitch Kupchak, and Orlando Magic’s John Hammond know of the skill that the teenager possesses.

Doncic is currently leading the EuroLeague in index rating with +22.1 per game along with 16.3 points, 4.7 rebounds plus 4.4 assists in just 25:32 minutes a game.

His averages, especially given that Doncic is still just 19-year-old has made him such a favourite for this season’s EuroLeague Rising Star and is also being considered for the MVP award as well.

The deadline to submit Draft paperwork for 2018 is Sunday.
