A familiar face is back to Milano, as Armani Jeans confirmed the arrival of swingman David Hawkins, who will play for the Italian powerhouse next season.

Hawkins (193, 27) arrives from Montepaschi Siena, where he averaged 11.2 points and 2.5 assists in 16 Euroleague games last season. He helped Montepaschi to win the Italian League and the Italian Cup titles. Hawkins had left Milano to join Montepaschi in summer 2009.

He averaged 13.8 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 16 Euroleague appearances with Milano in 2008-09, as the team played in the Top 16. Hawkins started his career in Temple University, where he stayed four years until 2004, always averaging scores in the double digits. After that, he moved to Italy to play in the second division with Rieti, and after great performances, midway through the season he moved to the Italian capital to join Lottomatica Roma.

He played there for three seasons until 2007-08, as that year the team reached the Italian finals losing to Montepaschi. In 2006, Hawkins was elected MVP of the Italian Cup despite his team’s loss to Napoli. “I am very to have the chance to come back to Milano. AJ Milano has great fans and a great organization. My goal is to focus my energy towards becoming a better player and help my team as much as I can. I can’t wait to wear the Olimpia jersey and play in front of our great fans.”
