Zalgiris Kaunas added another weapon to its backcourt by signing veteran point guard Beno Udrih for the remainder of the season.

Udrih (1.91 meters, 35 years old) returns to the EuroLeague, which he last played in during the 2002-03 season for Maccabi Tel Aviv.

He has spent the previous 13 seasons in the NBA with eight different franchises: San Antonio, Sacramento, Milwaukee, Orlando, New York, Memphis, Miami and Detroit. Udrih was an NBA champion with San Antonio in 2005 and 2007.

He had his best season in 2010-11 when he averaged 13.7 points and 4.9 assists in 79 games for Sacramento. Last season he averaged 5.8 points and 3.4 assists in 34 games for Detroit.

Udrih has also played for Hopsi Polzella and Union Olimpija Ljubljana in his native Slovenia, Avtodor Saratov in Russia and Olimpia Milano in Italy. He is expected to join the club in time for its Round 16 road game at Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade.
