Panathinaikos’ Nikos Pappas stepped up with 0.5 seconds left as his three-pointer put reigning EuroLeague champions to the sword in Athens.

He emotion coursing though Pappas was evident after he hit the game-winner, as he directed it towards the local media who had apparently been critical of his attitude on the court.

But as Pappas addressed the media, post-game. The Greek international stated that it was just one more win in what will be a long season ahead.

It is a one more win, an important win. We needed this result because of the loss in Moscow. We have tough games in front of us. We have to keep working together, and keep trying and see where it takes us at the end of the season. My performance? My teammates trusted me to play the last offense, trusted me during the game. Tonight it works, and another game someone else will make the shot.
