Panathinaikos is expected to announce the signing of Ian Vouyoukas shortly while their main target for the starting C position of next season still remains Serbian Aleks Maric.

Although Vouyoukas has agreed with Maccabi Tel Aviv well 3 weeks ago, he had an option to opt out of the deal until July 15th, in cases Panathinaikos made him an offer. So with July 15th closing down Panathinaikos is expected to announce his signing in the next 48 hours. The Greek international who averaged 13.5 points and 5.9 rebounds in Greek A1 last season is expected to sign a 2-years deal.

Panathinaikos is also after Aleks Maric. The Greek champions are offering the player a 3-year deal which will make him 1 million euros per season. The buy-out from Partizan is expected to be around 400-500K euros region.

The arrival of two centers and the probable renewing of Mike Batiste will probably send Georgi Shermadini to loan.

Panathinaikos is also close to Kostas Kaimakoglou who had a great season with Maroussi both in domestic and European competition and will help PAO in both the SF and PF positions.

On the guards position now, Panathinaikos is 2 men down for the moment after the loss of Spanoulis and Jasikevicius while Verginis could also be loaned out to Aris. So PAO is looking to sign two guards. One of them could as well be Sarunas Jasikevicius as both sides wish to continue together. The mystery man is expected to be the second guard as all candidates so far have signed for other teams (McIntyre, Cook etc).
