Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem added a viable scoring threat to its frontcourt by signing a deal with power forward Austin Daye, club announced on Wednesday.

Daye (2.11 meters, 29 years old) arrives from Galatasaray Odeabank Istanbul, where in 25 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague game last season posted 8.7 points on 45.2% three-point shooting, along with 3 rebounds.

He also posted 10.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists in the Turkish League. Last season was first EuroLeague season for Daye, who previously played in a pair of EuroCup games wearing Khimki Moscow Region uniform at the start of 2011-12 campaign.

So far in his career, Daye played parts of six seasons in the NBA for Detroit, Memphis, Toronto, San Antonio and Atlanta. He was on the Spurs roster when they won the 2014 NBA championship. He also played for Erie and Austin in the NBA G-League, Al-Manama in Bahrain as well as Pesaro in Italy where he averaged 21.3 points and 9.1 rebounds in 21 Italian League games.

“I’m happy that Austin is joining us”, said Jerusalem head coach Fotis Katsikaris. “Austin will add length and depth in the frontcourt positions. With that, he showcases great shooting skills from deep.

“Austin has experience in the highest levels of basketball and he is another valuable piece in our puzzle towards the upcoming season.”
