Crvena Zvezda reached an agreement with head coach Dusan Alimpijevic, who signed a three-year contract with the Serbian powerhouse on Friday.

At the relatively young coaching age of 31, Alimpijevic arrives from FMP Belgrade, to which he led to the Serbian League finals last season. He started his coaching career at age 22, working for Meridiana Novi Sad, where he stayed for six seasons, joining FMP last April.

Zvezda has announced that former Serbian basketball legend Milenko Topic will be the first team’s assistant coach.

“I want to thank everyone in the club and the president. I am extremely aware of what the name ‘Crvena Zvezda’ means – its tradition, its system and its fans,” Alimpijevic said after the agreement.

“I am satisfied to have the same staff who were with me in FMP – Slobodan Ljubotina, fitness trainer Aleksandar Jovancevic, as well as Milenko Topic, who will help us with his vast experience. We know which our goals are. We know that Zvezda must win. Therefore, we will thinking in that direction.”
