Khimki have reportedly signed EuroLeague-winning head coach Georgios Bartzokas to a three-year deal.

The Russian side, who will play EuroLeague basketball next season via the VTB League Playoffs have reportedly let go of current playcaller Dusko Ivanovic according to various media outlets in Greece, and inked Bartzokas who was at the helm of Barcelona last term.

Bartzokas returns to Russia having led Lokomotiv Kuban to the 2016 EuroLeague Final Four in Berlin.

Before that the Greek tactician won the EuroLeague title in 2013 with Olympiacos and joined Barcelona in the summer of 2016 with a great deal expected of him.

But unfortunately, Bartzokas was faced with a barrage of injury concerns to his players throughout the campaign, which led to the Catalan side missing the EuroLeague Playoffs and also elimination from the Liga Endesa post-season in the quarter-final stage.

But if the move to Moscow goes through smoothly, Bartzokas will straight away have a chance to put last season with Barca to bed and lead Khimki into a credible EuroLeague side.

Khimki have also signed heavily touted point guard Stefan Markovic from fellow Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg.

Markovic came off a tremendous season for Zenit this past season in the EuroCup, averaging 12 points and nine assists in the competition, guiding the Russian side to the quarter-finals where they were eliminated by Lokomotiv Kuban.

He also attracted attention from CSKA Moscow but that interest ended once they inked Leo Westermann from Zalgiris.
