Darussafaka Dogus coach David Blatt has revealed that he will be a Fenerbahce fan during this weekend’s EuroLeague Final Four in Istanbul.

Since leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers and returning to Europe, Blatt has settled in Istanbul, which has become the hub for European basketball with the Final Four and this summer’s Eurobasket also being held in the Turkish city.

So when asked who he was following this weekend, Blatt, who won the EuroLeague title with Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2014 was unanimous in his answer.

Via Eurohoops:

“I’ve been lucky in my career to be involved in a Final Four many times,” Blatt said. “It’s a special, special competition. All four teams are great teams. Obviously we’ve played against every one of them. I know the quality of those teams. Look I wanna see our league get the credit that it deserves. So… I’m a Fenerbahce fan this weekend. Also I have some good friends there.

“I want to see the Turkish league succeed. Fenerbahce are our representatives so I wish them the best luck. I wish coach Zeljko Obradovic and I wish Fenerbahce the best of luck,” he added.

David Blatt also said: “The team that is best that weekend is the team that is going to win the championship. The teams are so good and anyone can win, no question and I hope Fenerbahce comes down on top.”
