The cinderella story of the Liga Endesa continues as Tenerife are the new league leaders following a slip up by Real Madrid on their home floor.

Fresh off a Copa del Rey win plus cementing their EuroLeague leading status further with a win over Darussafaka Dogus, the domestic champions fell back down to earth as Gran Canaria came away with a deserved 93-81 win in the Spanish capital.

Led by Kyle Kuric’s 19 points, Gran Canaria move to seventh while Real drop to second following Tenerife’s resounding 85-61 road win over Fuenlabrada.

Barcelona slipped further away from the chasing pack as they lost 83-81 on the road to Estudiantes after a session of overtime in Madrid.

Frenchman Edwin Jackson starred with 32 points for the winners but it was Jamar Wilson who scored the winning bucket with seven ticks left in overtime to secure the win that lifts them closer into Playoff contention in tenth.

Barca drops to fifth due to Baskonia’s 99-88 road win against Zaragoza. Shane Larkin went for 30 points in the comfortable victory that sees them go fourth.
