Gran Canaria upset Baskonia and Barcelona overcame Real Madrid in the semi-finals of the SupaCopa Endesa as the Spanish domestic season got underway.

Led by 24 points by Kyle Kuric, Gran Canaria got the better of Baskonia 84-80 in the opening game of the day.

Baskonia were without Andrea Bargnani and Rodrigue Beaubois, while Shane Larkin was fresh out recovering from an injury but they were still heavily fancied to beat Gran Canaria.

But Kuric was in inspired form as his 24-point haul included four three-pointers, plus Gran Canaria posted an 8-2 run late on to seal victory.

They will meet Barcelona who beat Real Madrid 99-93 in the second semi-final.

In his first competitive game as a Barcelona player, Tyrese Rice exploded for 30 points, plus he dished out six assists in the win even though the guard did sit out a portion of the game due to a potential knee problem during the third quarter.

Justin Doellman added 11 points for the Catalan side.
