Gran Canaria delivered a message that echoed across the Liga Endesa as they convincingly disposed of Barcelona 79-59 to claim the season opening SupaCopa.

Bo McCalebb recorded 15 points, five assists and five rebounds to lead Gran Canaria as they raced to a 50-39 lead at half-time and went on to hold the Catalan side to just 20 points in the second half as they were out of their rhythm for the entire game.

Darko Planinic had 12 points, Eulis Baez added 11 and Kyle Kuric amassed 10 points for Gran Canaria with the latter claiming MVP honours.

Victor Claver and Juan Carlos Navarro had a team-high 12 points each for Barca.
