Mark Cuban says expensive cars have never been an important part of his lifestyle, despite having the financial ability to purchase virtually any vehicle he wants.
Rather than collecting exotic supercars, the billionaire entrepreneur said he prefers driving a Kia.
He struggles to understand spending millions on a rare vehicle that an owner may be reluctant or unable to regularly use.
“Some people are into cars. I drive a Kia. I’m certainly not into cars. Like getting a $4 million Lamborghini that you can’t drive. Robert Herjavec from Shark Tank, that’s the way he is. If it’s a hot car and he gets to say he’s got that car. I’m like, ‘Robert, you can’t drive it.’”
For Cuban, practicality matters more than exclusivity or prestige.
He prefers having a vehicle he can drive without constantly worrying about potentially damaging something worth millions of dollars.
“I’m not driving a $4 million car. I want my Kia so if I hit a curb, I don’t freak out. I got like a nine car garage. And one’s a little office now for the other security guard’s desk. There’s not even a car in there. None.”
