NBA commissioner Adam Silver says the league is targeting the launch of a new streaming platform for local game broadcasts ahead of the 2027-28 season.

Speaking on Tuesday, Silver explained that the NBA hopes to create a centralized service similar to a local version of League Pass, giving fans easier access to games in their home markets.

The plan comes after Main Street Sports Group, which previously handled regional broadcasts for 13 NBA teams, ceased operations earlier this year, creating uncertainty for the upcoming 2026-27 season.

“We’ll cobble together a series of solutions for this season, but I feel good that we’ll have something on a national basis for the following year,” Silver said.

In the meantime, the league expects to rely on temporary broadcast arrangements before rolling out a long-term nationwide solution.
