Oklahoma City Thunder guard Isaiah Joe has emerged as a key contributor in the team’s title defense, providing perimeter shooting that stretches defenses and creates space for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
According to Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson’s report, Joe credits the team’s success to a disciplined approach focused on daily improvement rather than the spotlight of winning.
Joe explained that the Thunder embrace what he calls a “stacking” philosophy, emphasizing consistent effort in practices, film sessions, and game preparation. “We see that we’re well capable of doing it but we just have to keep taking it one game at a time and also understand that we need to learn through every win and loss that we have leading up to it,” he said.
The Thunder’s ability to navigate the grind has been crucial as injuries have tested their depth. Despite absences in the rotation, Oklahoma City maintains the top seed in the Western Conference with a 60-16 record, reflecting a .789 winning percentage.
Joe highlighted the team’s resilience, saying, “Basketball is already a fun game and to be the best team around, it makes you really excited to look forward to being able to repeat again.”
Currently, Joe averages 10.7 points per game while shooting 40.8% from three-point range, solidifying his role as one of the league’s most reliable secondary scorers. His contributions complement Gilgeous-Alexander, who leads the team with 31.6 points per game, and Chet Holmgren, who adds 17 points and nearly nine rebounds on average.
