The Grizzlies used the third overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft to select Duke star Cameron Boozer, adding one of the most productive players in college basketball.
Boozer is coming off a dominant freshman season in which he earned consensus First Team All-American honors and was named AP National Player of the Year.
The 6-foot-9 forward averaged 22.5 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 4.1 assists while shooting efficiently from all areas of the floor.
The son of former NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer, Cameron has built an impressive résumé at every level, including MVP honors while leading Team USA to gold medals at the U16 Americas Championship and U17 World Cup.
Although he isn’t considered an elite athlete, Boozer is widely praised for his basketball IQ, skill level, decision-making, and consistent production.
Memphis is expected to give him a major role immediately as part of a young core that includes Zach Edey, Cedric Coward, and Jaylen Wells.
With several key veterans no longer part of the franchise’s long-term plans, the Grizzlies are counting on Boozer to become a foundational piece for the organization’s next era.
