Despite his global fame, returning to Slovenia continues to hold special meaning for Luka Doncic.
The Lakers star admitted that life at home has changed because of his popularity, limiting how freely he can move around in public.
Still, he has come to accept that reality as part of his success.
While he enjoys living in Los Angeles and appreciates the differences between the two places, Doncic said there is still something unique about coming back to his hometown.
“At home, I hardly go anywhere anymore. Sometimes I miss that, but it’s part of the price of achieving what I wanted to achieve, and I’ve accepted it.
“It’s very different from Los Angeles because the culture and the country are different, but I feel great in LA too. Still, coming home is always special.”
