Jason Kidd emerges as Magic candidate

Jason Kidd has emerged as a potential surprise candidate in the Orlando Magic’s search for a new head coach, according to Brett Siegel.

While Billy Donovan has been widely discussed as one of the leading options for the position, there is growing speculation that Orlando could consider other experienced candidates if its preferred targets are unavailable.

One league executive who spoke with ClutchPoints suggested that Kidd could be a name to watch as the coaching search continues.

“It is possible Donovan is Orlando’s back-up plan,” the executive said, while also indicating that “Jason Kidd [is] a potential dark horse for the Magic job.”
