LeBron James is reportedly expected to wait for the Los Angeles Lakers to present their offseason plans before deciding whether he will return next season or continue his career elsewhere.

According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, James and his camp are not expected to actively approach teams once free agency begins on July 1.

The Lakers could potentially open up nearly $50 million in cap space this summer, though doing so may require renouncing James and his massive cap hold.

That scenario could complicate negotiations if LeBron takes his time making a decision about his future.

Despite the uncertainty, Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka recently stated that the organization hopes James returns for another season.
