Trade rumors surrounding Jaylen Brown continue to surface after reports revealed the Atlanta Hawks and Boston Celtics briefly discussed a potential deal before last February’s trade deadline.

The talks reportedly never became serious because Atlanta was not prepared to fully commit financially to Brown’s contract while still building its roster.

Boston also remained unwilling to move one of its franchise stars without receiving a major return.

Brown’s ties to Atlanta have continued to fuel speculation, as the Georgia native has long received strong support from Hawks fans whenever the Celtics visit the city.

The All-Star forward still has three years and $183 million left on his current contract and is eligible for another massive extension this offseason.

Brown has played 10 seasons for the Celtics. He has averaged 20.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in 674 regular-season games.

He was selected to play in 4 All-Star games. He has won 1 Finals MVP award and 1 NBA championship.
