The Boston Celtics star wing Jaylen Brown stood by his criticism of NBA officiating on Wednesday after being fined $50,000 earlier this week by the league.

Brown received the fine following comments he made about referees after Boston’s Game 7 playoff loss to the Philadelphia 76ers.

During his Twitch stream, the Celtics star defended his remarks and argued that concerns about officiating consistency have been widely discussed throughout the league.

“The inconsistency of the officiating between the playoffs and regular season is not just something that’s been talked about by me,” Brown said. “You can fine me, you can continue to fine me, but I care about this s—. I love the game of basketball. Damn, fine me for that.”

Brown delivered the best statistical season of his career in 2025-26, averaging 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists while helping lead the Celtics to a 56-26 record despite Jayson Tatum missing significant time recovering from a torn Achilles injury.

Even after Boston’s early playoff exit, Brown remains one of the franchise’s central pieces moving forward and currently ranks 13th in RealGM’s NBA Player Value Index.
