Ergin Ataman, the head coach of Panathinaikos BC, claimed there was a tense situation involving authorities after the game, saying police in Valencia were attempting to detain members of his team’s group, including Dimitris Giannakopoulos.

He suggested the incident unfolded right outside the locker room and accused local staff of escalating the situation.

“In front of our locker room there are policemen. They came to arrest staff members and Giannakopoulos. Valencia staff put policemen in front our locker room. They’re trying to arrest our president.”
