Since the NBA’s All-Defensive teams are often dominated by big men, Fred Katz of The Athletic created a hypothetical All-Perimeter Defense team for the 2025/26 season.
Among his first-team selections is the Knicks’ OG Anunoby, whom Katz highlighted for his versatility, citing a game against Denver where Anunoby successfully defended Nikola Jokic, Aaron Gordon, Cameron Johnson, and Bruce Brown.
His defensive impact has been a major reason New York ranks among the league’s top-10 defenses, even with an offense centered around Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns.
Joining Anunoby on Katz’s first team are Derrick White of the Celtics, Scottie Barnes of the Raptors, Ausar Thompson of the Pistons, and Cason Wallace of the Thunder.
Amen Thompson of the Rockets, Ausar’s brother, leads the second-team selections.
