The Chicago Bulls made a major front office change on Monday by dismissing executive VP Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley.
However, early indications suggest the team does not plan to make a similar move with head coach Billy Donovan.
According to Marc Stein, Chicago is interested in keeping Donovan, and ESPN’s Shams Charania echoed that sentiment.
“My understanding is the Bulls want to keep [Donovan] as long as he wants to be there, in Chicago,” Charania said on NBA Today.
Donovan, who agreed to a multiyear extension with the Bulls last offseason, is still expected to attract attention from other NBA teams with coaching openings, as noted by Jake Fischer of The Stein Line.
Despite that potential interest, the Bulls would prefer to maintain continuity on the sidelines.
Meanwhile, the organization has already begun evaluating options to replace its front office leadership.
Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic identified Timberwolves GM Matt Lloyd as a possible candidate.
Lloyd is highly respected across the league and has prior ties to Chicago, where he began his NBA career.
