Sixers guard VJ Edgecombe has been named Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for March, while Kings big man Maxime Raynaud earned the honor in the Western Conference, the NBA announced.

Edgecombe’s selection stops Hornets forward Kon Knueppel from sweeping the award all season.

Knueppel had won every previous month, October/November through February, and was again a finalist, along with Wizards forward Will Riley.

Edgecombe secured the award after averaging 18.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in 32.7 minutes over 13 games in March, shooting .454/.361/.895 and strengthening his case for All-Rookie First Team honors.

In the West, Raynaud becomes the third different winner this season, joining Cooper Flagg and Dylan Harper, who were both also nominated for March alongside Jazz forward Ace Bailey.

With injuries to Domantas Sabonis and Drew Eubanks opening up minutes, Raynaud has taken on a larger role for Sacramento.

In 15 March games, all starts, he averaged 17.9 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 1.8 assists while shooting .595/.444/.784.

He also had a standout stretch with back-to-back 30-point performances on March 17 and 19.
