The NBA’s investigation into possible salary cap circumvention involving the Los Angeles Clippers and Kawhi Leonard remains active nearly seven months after it began, with no set timeline for completion.

“Wachtell’s investigation is ongoing,” an NBA spokesperson said. “There is more work to be done and no set timeline.”

The probe, led by law firm Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, centers on Leonard’s $28 million endorsement deal with Aspiration, a company previously backed by Clippers owner Steve Ballmer.

Interviews with team officials and former Aspiration employees are still ongoing.
