Jamal Murray scored 37 points, including 10 3-pointers and a half-court buzzer-beater, leading the Denver Nuggets to a 130-117 win over the Utah Jazz Wednesday at the Delta Center.
Nikola Jokic recorded 15 points, 17 rebounds and 12 assists for his fifth triple-double in six games, while Cam Johnson added 19 points, eight rebounds and six assists.
Christian Braun contributed 18 points and six rebounds as Denver shot 48 percent from the field and made 16 of 39 three-point attempts.
Murray started the game on fire, hitting 3-pointers on Denver’s first three possessions, helping the Nuggets open with a 17-3 lead and a first-quarter total of five threes.
Utah was paced by Brice Sensabaugh, who scored 28 points with six 3-pointers, and Kyle Filipowski, who added 25 points and 12 rebounds. Kennedy Chandler contributed 16 points and six assists off the bench.
The Jazz trailed wire-to-wire and remained 3-19 in their last 22 games, briefly cutting the deficit to four points early in the fourth quarter before Denver responded with a 15-2 run.
Jonas Valanciunas drove for a layup late in the first quarter to extend the Nuggets’ lead to 45-29, and Murray’s timely baskets throughout the game kept Denver ahead.
Denver improves to 49-28, securing their seventh straight victory, while Utah drops to 21-56 and continues a seven-game losing streak.
The Nuggets return home to face the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday, and the Jazz travel to Houston to play the Rockets on Friday.
