With Marcus Smart, Rui Hachimura, and Deandre Ayton unavailable on Wednesday, Bronny James was given an opportunity to step into the rotation for the Los Angeles Lakers.

In 13 minutes, the second-year guard contributed across the board with four points, two steals, one block, one rebound, and one assist.

Bronny, who has been performing well in the G League with South Bay, has consistently impressed in limited opportunities, with head coach JJ Redick noting his readiness in recent games, according to Benjamin Royer.

The game also marked just the second time this season that Bronny shared the court with his father, LeBron James.

However, the player downplayed the significance, focusing instead on his own development and contribution.

“I’m not really thinking about it,” Bronny said. “Just thinking about what I can do to impact the game and pull out a win. I’ve been around him and basketball at the same time for a while now, so it’s not that special.

“The first couple times were of course, but it’s my second year now. And I’m just trying to prove myself and get better as a player.”
