While continuing to work his way back into form with Golden State, Kristaps Porzingis has also emphasized how much he’s looking forward to eventually sharing the floor with Stephen Curry, as Florito Maniego of NBC Sports Bay Area relays.
With Curry still sidelined, Porzingis hasn’t yet had that opportunity, but he spoke enthusiastically about what it would mean after Monday’s win over Washington.
“Oh man, this is the GOAT, you know what I mean,” Porzingis said. “To play with somebody like that, it’s going to be unbelievable. Obviously, from playing against him, I know what type of a player he is.
“And (with) the gravity he brings, it just opens everything up for everybody else. So, hopefully he will be back with us soon.”
Curry continues to recover from a right knee injury, though there’s reportedly cautious optimism that the two-time MVP could return later this month, which would give the Warriors a chance to integrate the pairing before the postseason.
