Ty Jerome narrowly missed a triple-double with 21 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists as the Memphis Grizzlies ended their eight-game losing streak with a 125-118 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night at FedExForum.

Olivier-Maxence Prosper scored 19 points, while GG Jackson added 16, helping Memphis secure their first win since March 1 at Indiana.

Cedric Coward contributed 15 points and seven rebounds, and Taylor Hendricks added 13 points while accounting for half of Memphis’ 12 steals in the contest.

The Nuggets were hampered by 19 turnovers, allowing the Grizzlies to capitalize in transition and maintain a narrow lead throughout the second half.

Nikola Jokic led Denver with 29 points, 14 rebounds, and nine assists but also recorded 10 turnovers, just missing his sixth triple-double in eight games.

Christian Braun scored 26 points, Cameron Johnson added 20, and Jamal Murray posted 19 points with 12 assists and eight rebounds, but the Nuggets could not overcome Memphis’ balanced scoring.

Memphis shot 43% overall and 33% from three, making 25 of 32 free throws, while Denver converted 49% of their field goals and 36% of three-pointers, showing efficiency was not enough against Grizzlies’ defensive pressure.

The Grizzlies, playing without several key players, improved to 24-44, moving slightly above the bottom of the Western Conference, while Denver fell to 42-28, remaining just behind Houston for fifth place.

This game was a makeup of a Jan. 25 matchup postponed due to weather, marking the second night of a back-to-back for Denver, who rested Aaron Gordon with a hamstring injury after a 124-96 win over Philadelphia on Tuesday.

Memphis will host the Boston Celtics on Friday, while Denver returns home to face the Toronto Raptors, with both teams looking to rebound from Wednesday’s results.
