TMZ Sports reports that Dillon Brooks was cited for reckless driving and speeding shortly before his DUI arrest earlier this month.

According to police, Brooks was driving 85 mph in a 45 mph zone just after midnight on January 12, hours after a Suns win.

The officer said he was “concerned about the extreme risk of a catastrophic collision or the vehicle striking a pedestrian.”

“Several businesses in the area were open and operating,” the report stated. “A collision at such speeds could have resulted in multiple fatalities or serious physical injuries.”

Bodycam footage shows Brooks being pulled over and cited, with the officer noting, “Anything 35 and over is reckless.”

“Anything 21 and over is excessive.”

Brooks was ticketed and released, though he is scheduled to appear in court next month.

Officers also told him, “Every time you drive up on this street, especially the past week, you’ve been speeding aggressively fast.”

“Way over the speed limit.”

He was later arrested for DUI in Scottsdale after being stopped for swerving, though it was not alcohol-related and he registered a 0.0 BAC.

Brooks has been out since February 21 with a fractured left hand.
