With the EuroLeague taking a stranglehold of the continent’s elite basketball clubs, the FIBA Basketball Champions League held their first ever regular season draw today with a mixture of champions from the lesser known domestic leagues around Europe along with well known household teams from years gone by.

It is a great opportunity for FIBA new ‘flagship’ competition to show itself in a different light and promote those domestic league champions in the way that they deserve and give them a chance to showcase their basketball skills on a global stage.

The draw for this season’s Basketball Champions League, set to commence on September 27 with the qualification rounds is as follows:

The FIBA Basketball Champions League competition will consist of 32 teams. 24 teams have pre-qualified for the regular season, with the last eight teams set to qualify through two qualification rounds.
