Alabama guard Aden Holloway was arrested earlier this week and charged with first-degree possession of marijuana after authorities reportedly found more than a pound of the substance in his home.

According to Tuscaloosa police, agents with the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force conducted a search at a residence on Monday.

Officers say they recovered more than a pound of marijuana along with drug paraphernalia and cash, TMZ Sports reports.

The 21-year-old junior was charged with first-degree possession of marijuana and failure to affix a tax stamp, both felony offenses.

He was taken to county jail, where bond was set at $5,000.

Holloway has been a key player for Alabama this season, averaging 16.8 points per game. He most recently scored 18 points in the Crimson Tide’s loss to Ole Miss on Friday.

Alabama received a No. 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament and is scheduled to face No. 13 Hofstra on Friday.

It’s unclear how the arrest will affect Holloway’s immediate availability for the game.
