
Kentucky and Duke lead all colleges in current NBA representation, with 29 and 27 former players in the league. Several other programs also have strong NBA pipelines, including Arizona, UCLA, Gonzaga, Michigan, North Carolina, and Florida, each with at least 10 active players.
Here’s how the other schools in the 2026 NCAA Tournament are represented in the NBA.
East Region (Washington, D.C.)
Duke leads the region with 27 players. Kansas has 13, UCLA 12, and North Carolina 10. UConn has nine, while Michigan State and Ohio State each have seven. TCU has four, and St. John’s and VCU have three each. UCF, Northern Iowa, Furman, and Siena have one, while Cal Baptist and Penn have none.
West Region (San Jose, CA)
Arizona leads the region with 14 NBA players, followed by Gonzaga with 13. Arkansas and Villanova each have nine, while Texas has seven and Missouri five. Miami (FL) has four players, Wisconsin and Utah State have three each, and Purdue has two. BYU, Kennesaw State, and Queens each have one, while High Point, Hawaii, and LIU have none.
Midwest Region (Chicago, IL)
Kentucky leads the region and the entire tournament with 29 players. Michigan has 15. Virginia and Alabama each have seven, while Texas Tech has six. Iowa State and Georgia have five each, Louisville three, and Santa Clara two. Saint Louis, South Florida, and Akron each have one, while Hofstra, North Dakota State, Tennessee State, UMBC, and Howard have none.
South Region (Houston, TX)
Florida leads the region with 10 players. Houston and Tennessee each have six, while Illinois and Vanderbilt have five. Texas A&M has seven, Clemson and Iowa have three, and Nebraska, Saint Mary’s, Wright State, Idaho, and Lehigh each have one. Miami (OH), SMU, Troy, and Prairie View A&M have none.
