New details are emerging in Aden Holloway’s arrest, offering a clearer look at what police say they found in his apartment.

According to court documents filed Tuesday, authorities discovered 2.1 pounds of marijuana during a search of the Alabama guard’s residence Monday morning.

Investigators say it was found throughout the apartment – in a backpack, jacket pocket, suitcase, TV stand, and a vacuum-sealed bag … along with cash, the prescription sedative Promethazine, a rolling tray, and packaging materials.

The documents also describe Holloway’s interaction with officers … with an agent writing he initially chose to remain silent before later saying he “only smokes.”

Holloway was arrested and charged with two felonies – first-degree possession of marijuana and failure to affix a tax stamp. He was booked at 9:48 AM and released less than an hour later on $5,000 bond.

Authorities allege he had marijuana “for other than personal use” … and claim he did “possess, distribute, sell, transport, import, transfer or otherwise use” it without the required tax stamp.

Officials also noted he did not have a prescription for the Promethazine. It’s still unclear what prompted the search warrant.

Under Alabama law, possessing 2.2 pounds or more can trigger a trafficking charge with a mandatory minimum three-year sentence and a $25,000 fine – and Holloway’s reported 964 grams falls just below that threshold.

As previously reported, Holloway has been removed from campus and suspended as Alabama prepares to play without him … a major hit ahead of the NCAA Tournament, as he averages 16.8 points per game.
