Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry will miss another 10 days with a lingering knee issue, NBA insider Shams Charania reported on Wednesday. The extension means Curry will sit out five more games, totaling 20 consecutive missed contests since January 30.
Charania noted that Curry has started on-court work and is looking to intensify his rehabilitation efforts. The 37-year-old has averaged 27.2 points, 4.8 assists, and 3.5 rebounds in 39 games this season, shooting 39.1% from three-point range.
Curry’s absence leaves the Warriors without their leading scorer and floor general as Golden State navigates a crucial stretch in the Western Conference. The team currently sits 9th with a 32-33 record, fighting for a playoff spot behind Oklahoma City, San Antonio, and Houston.
Without Curry, De’Anthony Melton and Brandin Podziemski have shouldered the scoring load. Podziemski contributes 12.6 points in 27.9 minutes per contest.
Draymond Green and Al Horford are providing veteran stability on both ends, with Green averaging 5.5 rebounds and 5.3 assists, while Horford chips in 5.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.
The team has emphasized a one-game-at-a-time approach, focusing on execution rather than Curry’s absence. With the star guard targeting a return after this extended rehab, the Warriors are aiming to regain momentum before the postseason begins.
