The Washington Wizards will enter Tuesday’s matchup against the Miami Heat with a severely depleted roster. Anthony Davis (left finger), Kyshawn George (left elbow), D’Angelo Russell, Jamir Watkins (left ankle/foot), and Cam Whitmore (right shoulder) are all out, according to the NBA’s official injury report.
Miami hosts the Wizards at Kaseya Center with several key players also sidelined. Simone Fontecchio (left groin) is probable, Kel’el Ware (right shoulder) is questionable, and Andrew Wiggins (left big toe) and Norman Powell (right groin) are out. Nikola Jovic will not play as part of injury management, while Terry Rozier and Keshad Johnson are not with the team or on G League assignment. Davion Mitchell is listed as available despite a left shoulder contusion.
The Wizards are struggling in the standings with a 16-47 record, placing them last in the Eastern Conference. They have lost eight straight games, including a 118-138 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on March 8 and a 112-122 defeat versus Utah on March 5.
The Heat are on a five-game winning streak, standing 36-29 in the Eastern Conference and holding the seventh seed. Bam Adebayo leads the team with 18.9 points and 9.8 rebounds per game, while Tyler Herro and Norman Powell average over 22 points each. Miami secured a 121-110 win over Detroit on March 8 and a 128-120 victory against Charlotte on March 6.
This game is the second meeting of the season between the two teams. Miami dominated the first encounter on February 8, defeating Washington 132-101.
