Tyler Herro led the Miami Heat with 33 points, nine rebounds and nine assists to help Miami snap the Charlotte Hornets’ six-game winning streak with a 128-120 victory Friday at Spectrum Center.
Herro was 8-for-10 from three-point range and hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 7:06 left during a decisive 9-0 run that put the Heat in control.
Bam Adebayo added 24 points and 12 rebounds, while Jaime Jaquez Jr. contributed 21 points off the bench as Miami improved to 35-29 and extended its winning streak to four games.
The Heat shot 47 percent from beyond the arc, turning efficient shooting into consistent offense throughout the second half.
Kon Knueppel led the Hornets with 27 points, going 6-of-10 from three, while Brandon Miller posted 22 points and 13 rebounds and LaMelo Ball scored 21 points but struggled from the field, making just seven of 22 shots.
Charlotte fell to 32-32 and saw its six-game streak, which had tied the 2017-18 Golden State Warriors for second-longest streak in league history with 15-plus point wins, come to an end.
The Hornets cut the lead to three late in the fourth quarter with consecutive 3-pointers from Knueppel, but Herro’s jumper and a follow shot by Dru Smith restored a seven-point margin.
The Heat host the Detroit Pistons on Sunday, while Charlotte begins a four-game road trip at the Phoenix Suns the same day.
