The Memphis Grizzlies announced the signing of Olivier-Maxence Prosper to a two-year contract, according to NBA insider Shams Charania. Prosper, 23, has appeared in 36 games this season, averaging 7.6 points and 15.8 minutes per contest.
Prosper has shown efficiency on the floor, shooting 54.1% from the field, including 38.9% from three-point range. He also contributes defensively, averaging 0.9 steals, 0.8 blocks, and 3.1 rebounds per game.
This marks Prosper’s third NBA season after spending his first two years with the Dallas Mavericks. His minutes and production have steadily increased, reflecting the Grizzlies’ trust in his ability to impact both ends of the floor.
Memphis, currently 11-17 at home and 11-19 on the road with a 23-37 overall record, has relied on a combination of youth and veteran leadership. Prosper’s versatility at power forward strengthens a roster led by Ja Morant, who is averaging 19.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 8.1 assists in 28.5 minutes per game.
The forward’s ability to stretch the floor and defend multiple positions provides Memphis with more options in rotation. Cedric Coward, Santi Aldama, and Jaylen Wells form the core of the Grizzlies’ small and mid-range scoring units, and Prosper’s efficiency could complement their offensive spacing.
Prosper has started seven games this season and has shown the capacity to contribute in transition and half-court sets. His 15.8 minutes per game rank among the team’s rotation players, and his shooting splits indicate growth in scoring consistency.
With this new deal, Prosper joins a Grizzlies squad looking to rebound in the Western Conference, where the team currently sits 11th. The two-year contract gives Memphis flexibility to integrate him further into their rotation while maintaining future cap space.
