Oklahoma City Thunder guard Cason Wallace made the most of increased opportunities last month while several teammates were sidelined by injuries.

In February, he averaged 14.6 points, 4.8 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 2.1 steals in 30.9 minutes per game, boosting his case ahead of a potential contract extension this summer.

Head coach Mark Daigneault praised Wallace’s recent offensive stretch when speaking with Joe Mussatto of The Oklahoman.

“You never know when a guy’s gonna pop,” Daigneault said, “but he’s had a week and a half now of offense that’s been really, really good and intriguing.”

Meanwhile, Trail Blazers forward Deni Avdija could be nearing a return.

According to Sean Highkin of The Rose Garden Report, Avdija has been upgraded to questionable for Wednesday’s game against Memphis after missing time with a lower back injury suffered in the opening minute of a Feb. 22 game.
