Before their win over the Jazz, the Nuggets suffered losses to both Oklahoma City and Minnesota, with one recurring issue standing out — the team struggled whenever Nikola Jokic was off the court.

Denver was outscored during Jokic’s rest minutes in both games, which played a major role in the defeats.

Head coach David Adelman suggested the team may need to adjust its rotations to address that problem, Bennett Durando of The Denver Post reports.

Adelman acknowledged that the non-Jokic lineups must perform at a higher level so the starters aren’t forced to shoulder excessive minutes.

“It’s just something that we have to learn from,” the coach said.

“I have to find a unit that will actually do it, compete at a higher level. Because to me, that was the game. Then I had to extend minutes, and I’m playing guys into the ground. I can’t do that. Especially with the way the schedule has been very dense.”
