The Indiana Pacers control a team option on Micah Potter’s deal for next season, and the veteran forward/center has been strengthening his argument to remain in Indiana with his recent stretch of play, writes Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star.

Across his past eight appearances, while averaging 25.6 minutes per game, Potter has put up 15.4 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 0.9 steals per night, shooting an efficient .538 from the field, .463 from three-point range and .870 at the line.

Though the 27-year-old isn’t known for his defensive versatility, Dopirak notes that he has meshed well within Indiana’s offensive approach.

“Solid is the word,” head coach Rick Carlisle said. “Micah, that’s what he is. He’s solid. He’s a no-frills player. He doesn’t try to be fancy out there.

“He plays the game, he works to play to his strengths. I like that he’s a stretch big that can legitimately play some four. That’s a very good thing.”

Even if Indiana decides to pick up the option, Potter’s $2.8MM salary for the 2026/27 season would remain non-guaranteed, giving the team continued flexibility.
