Micah Potter is set to sign a non-guaranteed deal with the Pacers, according to Tony East of Forbes, with Garrison Mathews expected to be waived to open a roster spot.

Indiana needs frontcourt depth with Isaiah Jackson sidelined by a concussion, Tony Bradley limited due to a thumb injury, and James Wiseman nearing the end of his 10-day hardship contract.

Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star reports that the Pacers won’t receive another hardship exception and that Potter’s deal is expected to run through the rest of the season with a team option for next year.

The 27-year-old previously spent time with Detroit and Utah, appearing in 64 NBA games while averaging 4.3 points and 4.3 rebounds.

He most recently played for San Antonio’s G League affiliate in Austin, where he averaged 15.6 points and 9.6 rebounds.

Mathews, who joined Indiana on back-to-back 10-day contracts before earning a standard deal, will be released without financial penalty since his contract was non-guaranteed.

He appeared in 15 games, averaging 5.2 points in just over 13 minutes per contest while shooting efficiently from the field and beyond the arc.
