The Boston Celtics seized control in the second half and rolled past the Phoenix Suns 97-81 on Tuesday night at the Mortgage Matchup Center.

Derrick White scored 22 points and added eight rebounds and eight assists to lead Boston, which won its fourth straight game and improved to 36-19.

Neemias Queta posted 14 points and 13 rebounds, anchoring a frontcourt that powered the visitors to a 61-34 advantage on the glass.

Sam Hauser contributed 16 points, shooting 6-for-14 from the field and 4-for-10 from 3-point range, as the Celtics connected on 13 triples overall.

Boston played without All-Star Jaylen Brown, who sat out with a right knee contusion, yet maintained balance on both ends.

The Eastern Conference contender led 50-46 at halftime before delivering the decisive stretch in the third quarter.

The Celtics outscored Phoenix 30-11 in the period and used a 16-0 run to break the game open, turning a one-possession contest into a double-digit margin.

Boston shot 38-for-95 from the field and limited turnovers to eight, which allowed its defense to get set and control tempo.

The Suns struggled to generate consistent offense without their top two scorers.

Devin Booker missed the game with a right hip strain and Dillon Brooks remained sidelined with a left hand fracture, leaving Phoenix without nearly 46 points per game in average production.

Collin Gillespie led the home side with 15 points on 6-for-11 shooting, while Grayson Allen added 14 points and went 9-for-10 from the free-throw line.

Jalen Green finished with 13 points but shot 5-for-18 from the floor and was held to 1-for-8 from beyond the arc.

Phoenix shot 29-for-79 overall and was outrebounded by 27, which limited its ability to create second-chance opportunities and close defensive possessions.

The Suns dropped to 33-24 and have now lost four of their last five games.

Boston will visit Denver on Wednesday night, while Phoenix returns home Thursday to host the Los Angeles Lakers.
