The Chicago Bulls have ruled center Zach Collins out for the remainder of the regular season as he prepares to undergo surgery to address a sprained right toe.

Collins has not played since late December after initially suffering the injury, and the team has now opted for a surgical solution to ensure a full recovery.

The veteran big man had been sidelined for several weeks while attempting to rehabilitate the issue, but the decision was ultimately made to end his season early and focus on long-term health.

Collins has played 8 seasons for the Spurs, Trail Blazers and Bulls. He has averaged 8.0 points and 4.9 rebounds in 388 regular-season games.
