The Trail Blazers have officially promoted Sidy Cissoko to their standard roster and waived center Rayan Rupert, the team announced.

Rupert, the 43rd overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, averaged 3.2 points and 1.8 rebounds in 12.0 minutes per game across 139 appearances with Portland.

The 21-year-old will be eligible for a two-way contract if he clears waivers on Sunday.

Earlier, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that Portland planned to convert Cissoko’s two-way deal into a standard contract, with the player agreeing to a two-year deal, according to his agents at Gersh Sports.

Cissoko had reached the 50-game active limit on his two-way contract in the team’s final game before the All-Star break, requiring a promotion for him to remain eligible.

The 21-year-old French forward has become a regular part of the rotation this season, starting 24 of his 50 games while averaging 22.3 minutes, 6.5 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game, along with solid defensive contributions.

Because Portland already had a full 15-man roster, Rupert’s release created the necessary opening.

Converting Cissoko also opens a two-way roster spot, which the Blazers must fill by March 4.
