Ja Morant is making progress in his recovery from a UCL sprain in his left elbow and will be reevaluated in two weeks, the Memphis Grizzlies announced.

The team also said Kentavious Caldwell-Pope will undergo surgery Thursday to fix misalignment in his right pinky finger.

Morant has not played since suffering the injury January 21 against Atlanta and continues to deal with discomfort, according to the team.

He has appeared in only 20 games this season and just three since the start of the new year.

His limited availability, 79 total games over the past three seasons, and a contract worth $42.4MM and $44.9MM over the next two years reduced trade interest at the deadline, despite reports he expected to be moved.

His production has also dipped, as he’s averaging 19.5 points per game while shooting career lows of 41% from the field and 23.5% from three-point range.

Memphis is expected to revisit trade discussions this summer after reportedly speaking with Miami, Minnesota, and Milwaukee before the deadline.

Caldwell-Pope, acquired from Orlando last offseason, has appeared in 51 of Memphis’ first 53 games, averaging 8.4 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in a reserve role.

The Grizzlies said a recovery timeline will be determined after surgery, though he’s expected to make a full recovery. With Memphis at 20-33 and 5 1/2 games out of the West’s final play-in spot, he may not return this season.
