Josh Hart has become a key tone-setter for the New York Knicks, helping define the team’s identity through his energy and all-around play, but he understands that his contributions may never translate into All-Star recognition, according to Steve Popper of Newsday.
Even while playing an important role in the team’s success, Hart recognizes that his style doesn’t typically draw the kind of attention associated with individual awards.
“I think you’d always like to be an All-Star,” Hart said.
“Do I think a guy that’s my style of play is really going to be an All-Star? Probably not. If I was ever fortunate to be in that position, I would love it, but I just know the play style, it’s not the glitz and the glamour to it.”
Hart’s value to New York has still been clear in the results.
The Knicks have posted a 29-14 record in games he has played this season, compared to a 6-6 mark when he has been unavailable, highlighting the impact he brings beyond traditional statistics.
Hart has played 9 seasons for 4 teams, including the Knicks and Pelicans. He has averaged 10.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 3.3 assists in 573 regular-season games.
Mohamed Diawara may become an offseason priority for the Knicks, plus more from the Atlantic Division. https://t.co/d3vDihDfCV
